Convair 990, serial no. 02,  N990AB

CV-990, cn 02, N5902 was the second 990 built for Convair/General Dynamics for test flight operations.  N5902 first flew on March 3rd 1961 were it would conduct test flights for four years before being fitted with a passenger cabin.  Ship 2 was sold to APSA - Aerolineas Peruanas February 1st 1965 and reregistered as OB-R-765 and would operate with he airline up till the carrier ceased operation in 1973. Ship 2 was flow to Tucson, Ariz. August 1973, by 1980 Ship 2 was sold and reregistered as N990AB and flow to Mojave were it has been for more that 30 years.

On November 30, 2010 the aircraft was sold to Scroggins Aviation were today it will be fixed up and preserved, and continue to be used in film productions.
